20 existing and future volunteers attended our first Volunteer Development Day. This event was
aimed at empowering our community with a deeper understanding of the Tender Funerals
model, and to identify strengths, skills and experiences that individuals bring to the volunteering
role.
Participants watched the documentary Tender, learning about the very beginnings of Tender
Funerals in the Illawarra, and how this incredible offering grew from an idea to a successful
community-led funeral service, which is now expanding into a national network.
Project Activator, Denis Juelicher, shared a project update with the group, followed by a lively Q
& A session exploring all aspects of what Tender will bring to our community and how this will
be achieved.
