Our first Community Remembrance Ceremony was held in the grounds of the Birpai Local
Aboriginal Land Council in Port Macquarie. It was a privilege to come together in this
beautiful, natural space to remember people we love that have died and the many other
losses that are part of living.
As part of the ceremony we walked a heart-shaped labyrinth and connected to the healing
energy of nature, which held space for us as we silently felt into our grief.
It was a powerful event that allowed us to feel and acknowledge that while we walk on this
earth, we all experience loss and grief in many different shapes, and that there is healing in
the recognition and expression of this.
This beautiful event will be a regular part of the Tender calendar in year to come.
